  1. Share a story about a time when you were very afraid about something.
  2. How have you seen fear drive decisions you make?
IN THE WORD:
  1. Pastor Rodney taught about fear based on the story of Abraham and his wife Sarai. Have someone from your group re-tell that story. You can use Genesis 12:10-20 NIV as a reference. What stands out to you about the story? How did his “me fear” cause disaster?
  2. Read Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV. Based on this passage, how should we battle our "me fear" when it creeps in?
  3. Read 1 John 4:18 NIV. What stands out to you in this passage?

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
  1. How does perfect love drive out fear in marriage/relationships?
  2. What are the different types of fears that occur in relationships that have negative consequences?
  3. The passage in Deuteronomy helps us focus on God’s long-term plan over our short-term gratification. What are some reminders you can place in your life to be more kingdom-minded and less self-minded?
  4. From this week's Big Idea, what does Christ-centered love look like in the context of marriage/relationships?
