Trusting God with the Results
OPENING PRAYER:
Father, guide our hearts to trust in Your wisdom and surrender our lives to Your care. May we find peace in knowing that You are in control and may Your Spirit lead us in faith and trust. Amen.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
This well-known passage from Proverbs encourages us to trust in God's wisdom and guidance, rather than relying on our own understanding. It is a call to surrender and faith.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV):
REFLECT:
Trusting God with the results of our lives and the lives of our children is a central theme in Pastor Carter’s message. The story of the prodigal son reminds us that we cannot control the choices of others, but we can trust God to work in their lives. This requires faith and surrender, acknowledging that God's ways are higher than our own.
The passage from Proverbs encourages us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts. This means letting go of our need to control and allowing God to guide our paths. It is a call to submit to His wisdom and to trust that He is at work, even when we cannot see it. This is a challenging but essential aspect of our faith journey.
The father's decision to allow his son to leave and face the consequences of his actions is a profound demonstration of faith. It shows a deep trust in God's ability to work through difficult situations and a belief that God can bring about transformation and redemption. This example encourages us to be faithful in our love and guidance, while trusting God to handle the outcomes.
I WILL STATEMENT:
I will ask one open-ended question with a kid in my life, especially when they've made a mistake.
It doesn’t have to be complicated, but it does matter. One thoughtful question can open the door to a meaningful conversation and remind a kid that they are seen, loved, and not alone. To help you with that, we’ve created a list of simple, open-ended conversation starters you can use with the kids and students in your life. You can find them in the Pathway app or at pathwaychurch.com/parentresources
CLOSING PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the lessons we have learned through Your Word. As we seek to trust You more deeply, grant us the courage to release our fears and anxieties into Your capable hands. Help us to embrace the peace that comes from knowing You are sovereign over every aspect of our lives. May Your wisdom guide our decisions, and may Your love fill our hearts as we walk in faith. Strengthen us to be patient and steadfast, trusting that You are working all things together for good. We are grateful for Your unfailing love and the assurance that You are always with us. Amen.
